WAVE BACK

How could I defeat this wave?

Shall I let those isolated drops falling gently

Break my stride upon impact?

This crisp, cool, heiress valiantly holds

As the warm shine cracks

Through the window

Down the hall.

and I’m far away now.

Wishing I were closer

But no more than two steps

Is all that it would take.

Clinging to this life vest of mine,

We wander past a hollow open shrine.

A temple of the riches that's inside

No less divine.

Lights which seek to guide

Those former embers wouldn’t hide.

Finding shade in all those things

That do not end.

The orbital nature of a human soul

Through space.

A man who is lost, will render all that he can.

Completely breaking walls

Just to build them all again.

Falling from the top,

The way that he can see his friends,

Neighbors round the corner

and family in the bends.

Dead and buried, soft and slow.

Faith starts to seek what the mind doesn’t know.

Subsequently;

Queens and kings stay marching on,

Lightened hearts for drowning pawns.

They appraised this life we want.

Them.

Those whose lives we ought

To save and float beyond this guiltless rage,

A dream must come for those open waves.

----

So risk and stage this hallowed vice

There's snakes and bears,

Fielding mice.

A movement speaks

Where once is twice

And diamonds cut through all that’s right.

So can you spin, a roundabout

A violent game, your playing out

Intersecting thoughts and needs

Humbled hands.

Broken knees.

Stand up here and look above,

That froth of fog

That looming dove.
